The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) published the State Energy Data System (SEDS), a source of the EIA’s comprehensive state energy statistics. “EIA’s goal in maintaining SEDS is to create historical time series of energy production, consumption, prices, and expenditures by state that are defined as consistently as possible over time and across sectors for analysis and forecasting purposes.”
The EIA also published a map detailing the total energy consumption and production by state in 2018. This beta project integrates information from EIA’s State Energy Profiles and other existing products.
