Glenn Lang
Glenn Lang’s career is one of successful, creative, and progressive leadership in higher education and senior policy-level government. He has developed innovative programs that increased higher education student and faculty diversity and retention; increased educational opportunities for first-generation, low-income and underrepresented minority students; and addressed new program development, as well as institutional accreditation.Glenn has senior-level experience in policy formulation, evaluation, strategic planning, partnership building and finding creative solutions in demanding, highly political, results-oriented environments.
In his role as Assistant Secretary of Higher Education in New Jersey, he served as the chief academic affairs officer in the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education and oversaw institutional licensure and exceeding mission reviews, managed relations with regional and federal accreditation bodies that included Middle States. Additionally, Glenn represented the agency on the academic issues and transfer articulation committees of the NJ Presidents’ Council, the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority and the Educational Facilities Authority. When it came to statewide student programs, the scope of his oversight included the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), Minority Academic Careers Programs, the NJ State GEAR UP project, and Federal College Access Challenge Grants with annual budgets exceeding $50 million.
